The U.S. Army Cadet Command presented Norwich University’s Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program with one of eight MacArthur Awards for the 2013–14 academic year. The award goes to the top program in each of the nation’s eight command brigades, and is based on a combination of the success of the school’s commissioning mission, its cadets’ performance and standing on the command’s national Order of Merit List, and the school’s retention rate. Norwich ROTC distinguished itself as tops in the 1st Brigade, comprising the nation’s six senior military colleges plus five junior military colleges. “This is a huge honor for the Norwich University Army ROTC program and really validates all the work we put into providing cutting-edge training,” says COL Eric W. Brigham, dean of the College of National Services and professor of military science.
