FULBRIGHT SCHOLAR VISITS CAMPUS
This past semester, Norwich University welcomed David Last, PhD, a Canadian Fulbright serving as the Visiting Research Chair in the Peace and War Center. A 30-year veteran of the Canadian Army, Last has taught political science and war studies at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMCC) since 1999. He is the author of more than 60 book chapters and articles on peacekeeping, conflict, and higher education, and his current focus is on conflict management with a global comparative perspective on security education.
In addition to finishing a book for mid-career security professionals during his time at Norwich, Last supported two international initiatives involving Norwich and RMCC cadets: in Toronto in February—an international seminar on non-violent conflict; and in the Middle East in May—an international field study of conflict perspectives.
