Former Cadet First Sergeant Erin Gats ’17 of Livermore, Maine, has been selected as the regimental commander for academic year 2016–17. A communications major and perennial Dean’s List student, Gats plays lacrosse and serves on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, the Maroon and Gold Key Club, the Student Government Association, the Guidon, and the Uniform Committee. She is also active as a mentor in the Buddy-Up Program.

The fifth woman to serve the Norwich Corps of Cadets as regimental commander, Cadet Colonel Gats is actively pursuing a career in the U.S. Air Force.

Look for a more in-depth story about Gats and the four previous female cadet colonels in the upcoming fall issue of the Record, which highlights Norwich women in leadership.
