The Puck Drops Here

Honoring Our Military

Norwich University’s women’s and men’s ice hockey teams suited up in specially designed “camo” jerseys and socks on Saturday, January 31, at Kreitzberg Arena, in celebration of Military Appreciation Day. The Cadets did not disappoint—cruising past UMass Boston 5-1 in the afternoon and shutting out Saint Anselm 4-0 that evening. Prior to the game, Bo Reichenbach, older brother of NU sophomore goalie Ty Reichenbach, performed the ceremonial puck drop in front of an appreciative crowd. A Navy SEAL veteran who lost both legs to an IED in Afghanistan in 2012, Bo plays goalie for the USA Warriors sled hockey team and is training with the USA Paralympic sled hockey team. Norwich raised nearly $1,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project with a maple syrup raffle. The Reichenbach brothers hail from Billings, Mont.
